Conor and Claire, two young star-crossed lovers from warring families, are separated when the young man's kingdom is mysteriously annihilated in a fire on the eve of his brother's wedding. Conor is introduced to a rag-tag band of former slaves and disenfranchised victims of King Gar's imperialism, awakening in the young leader a deeply embedded spiritual call-to-arms. Conor is saved by Galen.

Projector - July 21, 1997

While Conor is dueling with Vorgeen, a rival chieftan whom he's trying to convince to join his Confederation of Tribes, they are interrupted by a Moor named Quadras, a traveling merchant claiming to have a magic powder. Conor believes the powder can help in their fight against the Romans. Coveting the same substance is Longinus who believes it may help lift his curse.

The Chosen - July 28, 1997

A boy king teaches Conor the responsibilities and joys of leadership while being protected from the clutches of Diana and Longinus. Along the way, the boy, Glas, experiences his own crisis of confidence because of warring factions within his clan.

Conor has just convinced a bellicose tribe to join his own when a mysterious woman named Shannon appears. Many begin to suspect she is a Banshee, the legendary herald of death. Dissension spreads among the ranks when Shannon foretells the death of a child about to be born into the clan. Superstition takes reign and the tribe calls for her banishment.

Doyle's Solution - August 11, 1997

Conor and Fergus discover a charasmatic man named Doyle, who has garnered a following among the young and homeless, known as his "children". Fergus discovers his abandoned daughter, Molly, is one of Doyle's loyal followers. Conor must fight for his land and to free the children from Doyle's grasp while Fergus must reclaim his daughter.

Red Boot - August 18, 1997

A brutal Roman emissary takes control of the island until stolen Christian scrolls can be recovered. Conor accuses Catlin of betrayal when he finds her stealing the scrolls. The two are captured and tortured until she confesses to being a Christian and reveals knowledge of The Dark Tower, a secret place the Islanders use to hide sacred documents from the Roman Catechists.
